CHRISTOPHER MANI
Pastor Christopher Mani is the Senior Lead Pastor of Messiah Jesus With Us Church, Adambakkam, Chennai, with over 32 years of ministry experience. Messiah Jesus With Us Church was established in 1994 with the generous support of Mother Shakeena Mary, who contributed toward the construction expenses of the church. The church was officially inaugurated in the same year by Father Berchmans.
In 2004, Pastor Christopher Mani began a Bible Study Ministry, which continues to this day. Through this ministry, he teaches theological subjects across India, equipping believers and church leaders with sound biblical knowledge.
His international ministry began in 2007 in Malaysia, where he proclaimed Jesus Christ as Savior and Redeemer. Through Pastor Christopher Mani’s preaching and teaching, the Holy Spirit has touched many lives. As a result, several individuals have dedicated themselves to full-time pastoral ministry, while many others have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and actively serve in part-time ministry.
Pastor Christopher Mani’s vision is to establish churches in places where the Gospel has not yet reached the people. By God's grace, he has planted five branch churches: two in Chennai, two in Andhra Pradesh, and one in Kallakurichi. All these ministries have been accomplished through the strength of the Holy Spirit and the abundant grace of God
Pastor Christopher Mani faithfully serves the Lord alongside his wife, Beulah, and their two children, Enoch and Elijah Osborn.
MY TESTIMONY
I was born into a Hindu family. My father's name was Mr. Ramasamy (Late), and my mother's name was Mrs. Jayalakshmi (Late). From my childhood, I lived in Royapuram, Tondiarpet, North Chennai. During my early years, I became involved in many bad habits. Furthermore, from the age of 21, I suffered from severe insomnia and was unable to sleep at night, which caused me great distress.
My life became a daily struggle, and I felt as though I was living in a nightmare. I consulted numerous doctors and underwent various treatments, but none of them brought any relief. Even after taking four sleeping tablets, I was still unable to sleep. I would simply lie in bed with my eyes closed until dawn. In search of a solution, I visited Hindu religious leaders and fortune-tellers, but nothing helped. This suffering continued for five long years.
TURNING POINT IN MY LIFE
On March 13, 1988, I turned 26 years old. During that period, there was a group of about fifteen young people who gathered every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in a Catholic church located in Tondiarpet. They met regularly for worship and prayer. Through one of the young men in that group, I asked if I could also attend their fellowship. He warmly welcomed me and said that I was free to come. It was around April 1988 when I first attended the gathering.
When I shared my problems with them, they prayed for me. From that day onward, the Lord Jesus Christ delivered me from my sinful habits and destructive lifestyle. Week after week, I began to learn and understand the truth of God's Word. By the grace of God, I received salvation. The Lord forgave me, even though I was a chief among sinners. He accepted me as His child and filled my heart with spiritual joy.
MINISTRY AT ADAMBAKKAM
In 1991, at the age of 29, I began serving the Lord in Adambakkam while traveling from Tondiarpet every Sunday evening to lead worship services and share God's Word. At that time, I was unmarried and worked full-time in the jewelry profession. Alongside my profession, I dedicated myself to part-time ministry. I was actively involved in various forms of evangelistic outreach across Chennai, including tract distribution, personal evangelism, and conducting evening house fellowship meetings six days a week.
In addition, I regularly participated in hospital ministry and frequently took leave from work to travel for mission work. Together with a team from Tondiarpet, we preached the Gospel in villages across Andimadam and Thennur (present-day Ariyalur district), as well as several villages in Cuddalore district. Our ministry included street preaching, tract distribution, and sharing the love of Christ with people in these communities. By God's grace, these years of faithful service became the foundation for a lifelong commitment to spreading the Gospel and serving His Kingdom.
GOD'S CALL
During those years of serving in ministry, God repeatedly confirmed His calling upon my life through dreams and divine revelations. On several occasions, God's servants also spoke prophetically, affirming His call for me to serve Him in ministry. Desiring to understand God's will more clearly, I spent time in prayer and fasting, seeking His direction. Although I sensed His call, I was hesitant to leave my profession and commit myself to full-time ministry. At the same time, I had recently been married (1993), which made the decision even more challenging. In His perfect timing, God gave me clarity regarding His purpose for my life. Understanding His will, I surrendered myself completely to the Lord and dedicated my life to His service.
When I came to Adambakkam to continue the ministry, my wife, Beulah, and our two children joined me. Our elder son, Enoch, was just two years old, and our younger son, Elijah Osborn, was only three months old. Throughout this journey, God has been our constant provider. He has faithfully met every need, cared for our family, and enabled the ministry to grow and flourish. For all His abundant and indescribable blessings, we give Him all the praise, honor, and glory.
MINISTRY - A PRIVILEGE RECEIVED BY THE GRACE OF GOD
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. - Ephesians 2:8–9
My journey in ministry is entirely a testimony of God's grace. In 1989, I was baptized through the ministry of Brother Sam Jebathurai in Tirupattur. In 1990, I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which strengthened and equipped me for the work God had prepared for my life.
As the Apostle Paul declared:
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. - 1 Corinthians 15:10
The Scriptures remind us:
Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. - 2 Corinthians 3:5
